Plan for Future Environment
This website is a great visual of how scientists hope for the future to turn out. Nowadays, everyone is trying to make the world a "greener" place. People think that if just a few people switch to hybrid cars everything will be fine. What people don't understand, is that it takes an entire mass of people to actually make a difference.
The purpose of this work is to show the general population scientists' ideal environmentally friendly world. They do this by using an intriguing website with a lot of color. They also use interaction and motion picture to catch people's attention. The final thing they use is very simple, easy to understand explanations of how changes can effect how we live. The overall effect of this website helps people understand what the future could become if everyone pitched in. That is what the scientists of today want people to realize.
Our predictions of the future show how we have high hopes that people will pitch in to help the future of our society. In reality, no one actually has the money to "go green". With all of the job cuts and prices of everything going up, many people can't even afford daily living. That shows that the future plans won't be able to become close to reality until the present day economy changes!!

The Future of Screen Technology
I see this video as highly impossible in the time frame that they have chosen. The writer of this video believes that life will already be this advanced in 2014... That's only 3 years from now... i highly doubt this will happen. The video does make the idea of Stretching screens and quick sharing look very convenient, but it seems like it will have a lot of problems. Any time there is a new type of technology, there are always flaws that are found immediately. That would be my biggest fear with a new type of product like this.
The purpose of this video is to show how technology is predicted to advance in the near future. The guy in the video seems very at ease and understanding of the product. He looks as though it just makes his life easier. the product also shows that life will be a lot more connected socially. the simplicity of sharing by the move of a finger will make everyone more connected about a lot of things. whether its the news, photos, or just a simple alert. it doesn't look as if this is a phone, it seems more like an iPod of some sort. It all seems to relate back to a modern everyday lifestyle made simpler. This seems to be one of the ways the video promotes futuristic living. It shows simplicity through a visual of everyday life. The act of shutting off an alarm, or brushing your teeth, or even being at work. These are all things that people do everyday that could be made easier. The overall effect of this video is to show people the advances planned for technology to keep them buying. The companies don't want people to get bored with whats around, so they are going to continue making new products.
The depiction of the future from this video shows that today's society is majorly based on technology. the video shows how technology will just make everything even more technological and easier to use. the images used to manipulate peoples minds in this video are very simple and everyday things so people are easily pulled in.

Eureka Season 1 episode 3
Personally, I liked the show in itself. It makes you want to continue watching it even if it is at a boring part. There are many suspenseful moments and thats another thing I like about it. I also like how you can understand what is going on even if you have never seen the show before. All together I like the show and what it is about.
The purpose of the show is to show that the government wants to control everything. The show is about Jack Carter, a city sheriff, who ended up in Eureka by accident. Eureka is a city where the government places geniuses to try and invent new things. The city is where chaos resides. There are many techniques used to show the purpose of the film. There is a very strong plot to the show. The idea of a top secret city, full of brilliant scientists, all working together to find the same answers. This will spark an interest for people who do and don't like sy-fy shows. There is also a lot of use of Foreshadowing. The idea of a ghost who is unidentified is a major foreshadowing effect. There is also the idea of the coroner who also has other jobs. Also the woman who claims to be Susan is yet to be determined. That is a big part in this episode because she is claiming to be the woman the sheriff's department buried that same morning. The writer of the series may be using real life events to base his series off of. The idea of a small town full of brilliant people could be true. How does the world know if there really is or is not a town like this. The overall effect of the show is to get people interested in the topic of science fiction and futuristic drama. The show is very intriguing and catches the eye very quickly. It has me interested in finishing the series and I don't even like science fiction. To me that proves a lot to me.
The depictions of the future show that life today is very basic. The story line is very simple and shows that our world could be much more advanced if we tried harder. We put a lot of work into advancing technology but not enough into advancing simple world living. A town full of geniuses doesn't sound safe though. It could cause a lot of chaos and or danger due to everyone's impeccable intelligence. Our world and/or country could also have a small town in the middle of no where. We may not even have a way of knowing. The only people who would know of the town would be those who live there and no one else. I must say it does seem possible...
